Getting to Modesto
October is a great time of year to visit California's Central Valley. This agricultural center enjoys warm temperatures and plenty of springtime blossoms. Modesto is the home town of director George Lucas, and the inspiration behind his film American Graffiti. If you are considering extending your stay, Modesto is ninety minutes from San Francisco, and a little more than two hours drive from the beautiful Monterey Bay, the Napa Valley Wine Country and the spectacular falls of Yosemite National Park.
